In a sentence each
DailySit locks the apps you choose from an hour you set, and opens them only after a timed sit with eyes closed, phone resting and body still, checked on your phone with the camera and motion sensors. There is no skip button: a person you trust can set a one-time code that works until midnight. The sit is quiet and unguided, opened and closed by Japanese bells.
SitFirst is the closest idea. It offers one new guided meditation each day, and its Focus Mode blocks social media until the morning meditation is done. Its page does not describe checking that you sat or a partner unlock. A good fit if you want a guided voice every morning.
ScreenZen puts a delay or a strict block in front of the apps you choose, and lets you breathe, journal or learn something to earn more opens. You can add an accountability partner who can let you back in. Breathing is one optional route, not a full meditation. Free.
one sec delays distracting apps instead of blocking them, usually with a short breathing animation before the app opens. A good fit if a gentle pause is enough for you.
Opal blocks apps and websites on a schedule, across phone and computer. It does not use meditation to unlock. A good fit for focus blocks during work.
Headspace has a large library of guided meditations, sleep and focus content. It does not block other apps. A good fit if you want to learn meditation with many teachers.
Based on each app's App Store page and official website, checked on 28 October 2026. "Not advertised" means we found no mention of it, not that it cannot exist. If something here is out of date, write to hello@dailysit.app and we will fix it.
